Antique 9ct Yellow Gold & Turquoise Heart Locket Pendant
It's an absolute joy to get our hands on one of these dainty puffy heart locket pendants, so popular in both the late Victorian and Edwardian eras and even better when discovered with nice clear hallmark, such as this one. This small heart locket has been made from solid 9ct yellow gold and is studded in the centre with a turquoise cabochon in a star setting. The reverse has a clear hallmark for Birmingham 1905/1906 and the bale, which the chain feeds through, also bears a 9ct finesse mark. Inside the locket sit two very old photos of a male and female, and no doubt those photos have been part of this locket for many many years, possibly since the locket was made. A fabulous piece of history and a small and charming piece of neck wear.
You can purchase this locket on its own to hang from your own chain, or with one of our delicate 9ct yellow gold trace chains. This is a modern chain, 1.2mm wide and with modern hallmarks. If you prefer a heavier chain with your pendant, we can source one for you from our sister store Sterling & Wilde, just get in touch with your requirements.
