Tell me more...

An incredible diamond solitaire ring with a solid platinum band that we estimate to be Art Deco in age - so 1920s to early 1930s. The diamond, we can see from its cut, is much older and is likely Georgian in age, cut during the 18th century. So repurposed from an older item of Georgian jewellery for this ring, likely a family heirloom that was no longer in fashion or badly damaged.

Despite its assigned clarity grade (old stones are often not up to modern standards), this stone is beautiful - in particularly the light return is spectacular. Whoever is presented this ring will be THRILLED. The inclusions - though surface reaching and dark in colour - can only be seen with a loupe.

Old Mine Cut diamonds are cushion shaped when viewed from above, but they feature a higher crown and smaller table through which you can often see the culet (the bottom 'tip'). They are sought after stones from a period that pre-dates modern diamond manufacturing methods.

This is the perfect engagement ring for the lady who likes her jewellery steeped in history. It will have been absolutely treasured by quite a few women before now, and needs a new finger to call home!
