Art Deco Platinum Old Cut Diamond Solitaire Ring
An absolutely stunning Art Deco era ring fashioned entirely in platinum and featuring a beautiful old European cut diamond just over half a carat in weight. The shoulders on this ring are incredibly decorative and are further studded with two small single cut diamonds. Old European cut diamonds are round when viewed from above, but they feature a higher crown and smaller table through which you can often see the culet (the bottom 'tip'). They are sought after stones from a period that pre-dates modern diamond manufacturing methods.
The central diamond in this antique ring is bright and lively and the ring really sparkles on the finger. It's clarity is excellent and the colour is good, and further whitened by the surrounding platinum mount. It's the perfect engagement ring for the lady who likes her jewellery steeped in history. It's also a lovely 'just because' ring that stacks nicely alongside other pieces.
