Tell me more...

When we first took possession of this wonderful necklace we assumed it to be from the Edwardian 'Belle Époque' period - certainly the design is very in keeping. However, on closer inspection of the main diamond, which has been transitional cut, we would estimate the age of this piece to be 1920s-1930s and therefore Art Deco in design.

It's a glorious necklace - a violin shaped 18ct gold pendant, topped with intricate millegrain platinum-work. Taking centre stage is an exceptionally bright and lively transitional cut diamond, and the piece is peppered with 9 other rose cut diamonds adding to the sparkle. Three pearls add a lovely, soft contrast.

The 17.5 inch chain that the Art Deco pendant hangs from is fashioned from platinum, and is sturdy with a box clasp and catch. The necklace is in excellent condition, and the only repair work we can spot is the re-gluing of the bottom pearl.

This is not only a collector's piece but it's also a beautiful example of antique jewellery. It will be a beautiful addition to the jewellery box of the lover of Art Deco style. It's supplied in our recycled kraft jewellery box along with our tailored gemstone care card. UK delivery is fast and free via Royal Mail.
