Antique Edwardian 18ct Gold Old Cut Diamond Toi Et Moi Ring
A beautiful ring from the turn of the 20th century. The ring has been made from 18ct yellow gold, and the stone settings are tipped with platinum. The ring is designed in an overlapping bypass style, and in it sit two old cut diamonds. The clarity grade of the diamonds is poor by modern standards, but to the eye the stones look pleasing and the ring is very pretty indeed.
Bypass bands are said to signify the overlapping of two souls, while the two diamonds represent you and me, or 'toi et moi'. It's a very romantic ring that would have been presented as a love token to its original owner. The ring is in very good condition for its age - the diamonds are securely set and the shank is thick and sturdy. A lovely item seeking a new finger to call home.
