A heavy and sturdy ladies Victorian ring at over 6 grams in weight, fashioned from solid 18ct gold and featuring three old mine cut diamonds, plain gypsy set into the ring. Old mine cut diamonds have a cushioned shaped outline when viewed from above, but they feature a higher crown and smaller table through which you can often see the culet (the bottom 'tip'). They are sought after stones from a period that pre-dates modern diamond manufacturing methods.

These particular diamonds, though I have graded as SI in clarity, are fabulous considering their age and cut. They shine beautifully and their whiteness is really good considering they sit directly into a yellow setting. I have been conservative in assigning H-I colour since all three stone show some blue fluorescence. Three stone or 'trilogy' rings typically represent the past, the present and the future. They are a wonderfully romantic piece of jewellery and the ideal gift on an anniversary or significant date. This is a glorious investment piece to treasure and pass on down through the generations.
