Tell me more...

This is a beautiful antique gold pendant brooch, late Victorian in age and made at a time when the Princess of Wales (who would become Queen Consort), began a trend for women adorning themselves in star shaped jewellery. This particular star has been given a touch of floral femininity, and it's a very beautiful item indeed.

For the Victorians and Edwardians, stars denoted guidance, whether that be spiritual or otherwise, and the motif became incredibly popular. The Queen Consort, of course, would wear her stars studded with diamonds, not pearls!

This lovely old floral star pendant brooch has been fashioned from 15ct gold with a 9ct gold pin. It's stamped for 15ct is in great condition for its age - all stones appear original to the piece. We are selling this piece without a chain - if you plan to hang from your own chain, the internal bale width is 4mm. Alternatively, we do have a small selection of quality real gold pendant chains available here.

Your Victorian pink sapphire pendant brooch will arrive packed in our recycled kraft jewellery box along with our tailored gemstone care card. Fast and free UK delivery via Royal Mail.
