Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Aesthetic Movement Bangle
A rose garden on your wrist in the form of this fabulous antique sterling silver women's bangle. The bangle carries clear hallmarks for Birmingham 1884 and weighs a substantial 31 grams. The bangle has been beautifully decorated with a leaf and flower motif that is typical of the aesthetic movement era, which aimed to escape the ugliness of industrialization, and instead focus on beauty and art, with a strong emphasis on botanical influences. The reverse is plain and polished and both sides of the bangle carry a hallmark.
The bangle is in excellent condition for its age. There are scratches as you'd expect, but no dents owing to its completely solid structure. The bangle opens and closes well and is comfortable to wear. It looks absolutely beautiful on the wrist too, of course. It's suited to slightly smaller than average wrists, so someone who typically wears a 7 inch - 7.25 inch bracelet.
