Vintage 9ct Yellow Gold Crocodile Brooch with Ruby Eyes

We googled, and apparently crocodiles symbolise primordial wisdom, efficiency, stealth and patience. All admirable characteristics, but our favourite characteristic of this particular croc is its solid gold body and red ruby eyes! A fabulous nod to jewellery design of the 1970s, this lovely brooch is a wonderful find. It's in excellent condition for its age with a working 9ct gold pin and no areas of gold loss or damage.  At 6cm long it's a good size, and at over 5 grams a good weight too. An unusual and unique brooch that would look fabulous pinned to blazer or coat. This is a fully hallmarked piece of jewellery, however the date letter is microscopic. We think it's a 1976 piece, but it could be a little earlier or later.
